The U.S. Army has a unmanned, unmanned aircraft called the Hunter. It is used by the Army to gather intelligence on enemy forces and make plans for attacks. This combat-proven drone has been in service since 1995. Its first operational deployment was in Republic of Macedonia. In its 7-month operational span, the Hunter flew over four thousand hours. The Hunter's remarkable operational success in Kosovo led it to be re-instated into production. It was also deployed into Iraq where it was used to fight ISIS with Viper Strike munitions.

MQ-5B Hunter

The MQ-5B Hunter, an upgraded version of the MQ-5, is the MQ-5B Hunter. The aircraft features a twin tailboom design, heavy fuel engines, and weapons-capable high points. The MQ-5B Hunter weighs in at 1800 pounds, and can fly at an altitude up to 22,000 feet. It is capable of missions up to 15 hours. The aircraft can carry two Viper Strike guided Bombs and has a relay mode to control Hunter aircraft. It also has a range of up to 80 miles, making it ideal for scouting missions.

The MQ-5B Hunter has the most advanced avionics of any DoD UAV. The aircraft has a PC-based mission system, an auxiliary distribution unit (GCS), GPS, and a Litton N-251 inertial navigation. The aircraft's advanced avionics system helps reduce its size, weight, and power consumption. It can execute multiple missions simultaneously.

RQ-5A Endurance Hunter E-Hunter

The Endurance Hunter, also known as E-Hunter, is a tactical unmanned aircraft. The aircraft's first flight was on March 17, 2005. This aircraft was developed in collaboration between Northrop Grumman USA and the US Army. Its purpose is to increase the range, endurance, and payload capacity of the Hunter UAV. It will be offered as a field-installable kit. Currently there are 50 Endurance Hunter RQ-5As.

The Hunter can carry Northrop Grumman's BAT Submunition. This submunition has been used to destroy an MBT combat vehicle as well as incapacitate a T-72 tank. The Hunter also carried the Viper Strike precision munition (1.8kg (4 lb), which has a warhead and semi-active laser seeker). The RQ-5A is a fixed-wing aircraft with dual-rudder and has a 6-hour endurance rating. It also has a flight time of more than 100 hours. The RQ-5A is propelled by two Passaggio-Guzzi petrol engines that develop 60hp each.

Station of ground control for Army One System

The Army is making strides towards a universal ground-control system for unmanned air vehicles (UAVs). You can buy hundreds from many UAV manufacturers for complete aerial coverage. Every UAV comes with its own unique controller, vehicle receiver, screen and screen. Army started a new program called One System in an effort to solve this problem. One System ground controller is an important step in that direction. This Spotlight article will examine the concept of One System and its current reach as well as future technology initiatives.

One System was originally created for the Textron RQ-7 Shadow TUAS. It's now capable to support multiple UAVs including the Northrop Grumman RQ-5 Hunter. It also supports AAI Aerosonde's Aerosonde RQ-2 Pioneer and AAI Aerosonde RQ-8 Fire Scout helicopter UAVs. Both the One System ground command station and the ground station are powered by Windows and Sun Solaris and communicate using an antenna and an analog informationlink.

Viper Strike anti-armor munitions integration

Northrop Grumman announced the award of multiple GBU-44/E Viper Strike antiarmor unmanned aerial vehicles. These munitions will integrate on KC-130J Harvest Hawks. They will also use the most recent software load to improve the weapon's effectiveness against time-sensitive targets. Viper Strike a GPS guided laser-guided variant for the BAT weapon.

Viper Strike anti-armor armour is a gliding weapon capable of precision stand-off attacks. It uses a GPS-aided GPS navigation system and semiactive laser seeker for precise strikes and low collateral damage. It is an option for future Hunter UAVs and has been proven to be effective against a wide range of targets.

FAQ

What is the difference in a quadcopter from a hexacopter.

A quadcopter is a four-rotor helicopter that flies like a traditional helicopter. The quadcopter has four independent rotors. The hexacopter can be described as a quadcopter but has six rotors, instead of the usual four. Hexacopters offer more maneuverability and stability than quadcopters.

Which US states make drones legal?

Legally, you can operate a drone to perform hobby tasks. The Federal Aviation Administration has created guidelines to allow small unmanned aircraft system (UAS) use. Before they can be flown, these UASs need to be registered with FAA. If certain conditions are met, the FAA allows commercial operators to fly these UASs.

Is the FAA able to regulate drones?

The FAA oversees all aspects drone operations including safety standards and certification requirements.

Flying with a drone?

Drones are becoming more and more popular for personal and professional use. Drones are used for filming, photography, aerial mapping, search and rescue, as well as other purposes. New regulations were approved by the FAA, which includes requirements for registration, licensing pilot training and insurance. These changes will ensure that drones continue to be safe for all.

How To

How do I clean my drones?

Before cleaning your drone, here are some tips. This guide will teach you how to extract every bit from your drone.

  1. You need the right tools. You should have everything you need to start any project. A toothbrush or soft brush is necessary, as well as a cleaning solution (we recommend the use of WD40).
  2. Disconnect the battery pack. First thing first - remove the battery from the bottom of your drone. It's usually quite easy to find the battery under the propeller, so don't worry if you're unsure where it is. Be careful not to loose screws during removal.
  3. Remove all components. Next, carefully remove all the parts from under the drone. You should make sure that they are not loose as they could fall off during cleaning.
  4. Use a cleaning solution. Now, it's time to clean your drone. Use WD40 to clean your drone. Spray the entire surface with the cleaner. Make sure you get in between every part. It is best to let it dry completely before attaching everything.
  5. Install the battery. Once you have cleaned the drone, make sure to put it back in its place. So you can check the performance of your drone after cleaning it.
