How To

Repairing A Drone's Damaged Motor

The first step toward repairing a damaged motor is to identify what part of the motor is broken. This is easiest to do by removing the propeller from its shaft. Then remove any wires and take a look at the motor's inner workings. If you spot something wrong, you can identify which part of the motor needs to be fixed.

If the motor is in good condition, you shouldn't worry. But if it looks like one of the images below, you will need to replace parts before you can fly again.

Consider a motor that has become bent and won't turn. You will need to bend it back into shape. For this purpose, you could use a vice grip to hold the motor and bend it back into shape. After you've completed the above, ensure that you inspect the motor for signs and wear.

Once everything looks good, you can put the propeller back on the motor shaft. Then, reattach the wires. Your drone is now ready for flight!
